Oil cleansing is such an important step in your skin care routine. If you’re a fan of cleansing balms, you would have encountered the all-time favourite Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm or the Heimish All Clean Balm. Wondering which will suit your skin better? Read on!

Ingredients

Both balms are free from paraben, and claims to be suitable for sensitive skin types. But that’s where the similarity stops. The Heimish balm stars shea butter to deeply moisturise the skin and improve elasticity, and plenty of vitamin-rich natural botanical ingredients such as citrus herb oil for a relaxation and calming effect.

On the other hand, Banila Co’s balm champions papaya extract and acerola extract to help brighten, naturally exfoliate and smoothen the skin while you’re cleansing. We also love that it contains bamboo extract and onsen sui (hot spring water) for a soothing effect on the skin. If your skin disagrees with essential oils, the Banila Co. cleansing balm will definitely be a more suitable choice for you!

Texture & Scent

The Banila cleansing balm has a smoother and silkier texture, making it much more oilier on the skin than the Heimish balm. Banila Co balm also contain a slight rose fragrance, so if you’re looking for a fragrance-free formula you can try the Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Purifying variant instead!

While it’s free from synthetic fragrance, the Heimish All Clean Balm do have a very distinct botanical scent due to its essential oil content. This might put some people off, but I personally find the scent quite relaxing.

So… what’s the verdict?

While both balms are similar, they’re also different in their own little ways. If your skin is sensitive to essential oils, the Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm is definitely a safer choice, but if you’re sensitive to fragrance, or looking for something more wallet-friendly, we think the Heimish All Clean Balm is the clear champion here!

Have you tried any of these cleansing balms before? What’s your pick?
